What We Do

Through our committee structure and monthly meetings we focuses on working with members to achieve the following goals:

Membership Development:
PGCMA, with cooperation of the MML, provides training opportunities for newly elected officials.

Public Relations/Promotions:
PGCMA develops and implements membership strategies aimed at increasing participation at monthly meetings, chapter sponsored events and recommends public relations initiatives.

Diversity:
PGCMA develops strategies for promoting diversity within PGCMA, among the member municipalities, and within the Maryland Municipal League (MML).

Legislative Action:
PGCMA identifies issues of concern to member municipalities and formulates county and/or state legislation to address those issues.   It also promotes legislative goals and coordinates the lobbying efforts to achieve those goals.

Interaction With Legislators:
PGCMA interacts with county and state legislators by means of personal contact, an annual legislative dinner, and frequent visits to Annapolis and Upper Marlboro.

Education/Scholarships:
PGCMA monitors education issues in Prince George's County and awards scholarships to municipal residents.
